Christian Cage

Christian Cage has authored one of the great late-career reinventions in wrestling history. For years the loyal partner — to Edge in WWE's TLC-era tag division, then a two-time world champion in TNA and briefly WWE — Captain Charisma was always respected, often underused.

AEW changed that. Debuting in 2021, Cage evolved into the Patriarch: a sunglasses-wearing, father-figure-exploiting villain whose insults about opponents' dead fathers made him the most despised man on the roster and, paradoxically, its most entertaining act. His TNT Championship runs with Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne as his surrogate family were heel-work masterclasses.

Well into his 50s, Cage keeps finding new gears — proof that character mastery ages better than athleticism. WrestleRanks voters rank the Patriarch among AEW's most valuable performers, however loudly they boo.
