Wrestler Profile

The Rock

Dwayne The Rock Johnson went from failed blue-chip babyface Rocky Maivia to the most electrifying man in sports entertainment in under two years. As the trash-talking centerpiece of the Attitude Era, his catchphrases, eyebrow and promo skills made him the WWF's most quotable star and a ten-time world champion.

His trilogy with Stone Cold Steve Austin headlined three WrestleManias, and his 2002 match against Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania X8 produced one of the loudest sustained crowd reactions ever recorded. The Rock left full-time wrestling in 2004 to become one of Hollywood's biggest box-office draws, returning periodically for high-profile matches, including WrestleMania headliners against John Cena.

Now a global celebrity and businessman, The Rock's occasional wrestling appearances remain must-see events. WrestleRanks tracks him among the all-time greats, where fan voting keeps his legacy matches in the conversation.
