Bret Hart
Bret The Hitman Hart earned the billing of the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be through technical precision that made every match feel legitimate. Trained in the famous Hart family dungeon in Calgary, he rose from the Hart Foundation tag team to become a five-time WWF Champion.
Hart's matches with Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, Mr. Perfect and his brother Owen are among the most technically acclaimed in company history. His career in the WWF ended with the 1997 Montreal Screwjob, one of the most infamous real-life betrayals in wrestling, before an ill-fated WCW run was cut short by a concussion.
Despite a stroke in 2002, Hart returned for an emotional reconciliation with WWE and select appearances. The Hitman remains the measuring stick for pure wrestling excellence, and WrestleRanks all-time voters treat him accordingly.
