Wrestler Profile

The Undertaker

The Undertaker is the most enduring character in WWE history. Debuting at Survivor Series 1990 as a Western mortician and evolving through Deadman, American Badass and Phenom incarnations, Mark Calaway protected the aura of an undead force for three decades — an almost impossible feat of character discipline.

His WrestleMania undefeated streak grew into wrestling's most sacred statistic, reaching 21 straight victories before Brock Lesnar ended it in 2014. Along the way he produced era-defining matches: Hell in a Cell with Mankind and Shawn Michaels, casket and buried alive matches with Kane, and late-career classics with Michaels, Triple H and CM Punk.

The Undertaker rode off after a cinematic Boneyard Match in 2020 and delivered a memorably human farewell speech at Survivor Series that year. On WrestleRanks, the Deadman remains a permanent contender in every all-time fan ranking.

The Undertaker is associated with WWE (1992–2011) and WCW (defunct).
